Alex Boles - Editor

My name is Alex Boles and I recently graduated with a Public Communication degree from Truman State University. I have more than three years of journalism experience with the nationally award-winning University newspaper. I also have interned at a tabloid newspaper in St. Louis. My passion is writing, and I fully intend on continuing to do so with ULP and other writing projects I am working on.

I started ULP back in April 2009 after taking a Family Communications class with one of my favorite professors. My method of releasing emotions in a healthy way was always to write a letter, whether that be in my diary or a random page in a notebook, it helped me. I started ULP hoping that others could utilize my style of relief and in turn find some peace and eventual happiness.

The official “Unwritten Letters Project” book is available online and soon to be in bookstores near you. It is a compilation of more than 100 letters submitted to this site. Look for it at LeClereBooks.com or on Amazon.

Final note: I would like to extend MY personal services even more.  I would like everyone to know that I encourage the spread of this project . I am willing to come speak about the project if you would like and am more than willing to answer questions about the site and the ULP. E-mail me at <alexboles@gmail.com> for further information. For appearances or book signings please contact <unwrittenlettersproject@gmail.com>.

Stay connected with the ULP with Twitter at twitter.com/unwrittenletter or become a FAN on FACEBOOK! Also, you can JOIN the GROUP on Facebook as well. Spread the word. ;)

If this site has helped you or someone you know in any way, please comment or send me a personal e-mail telling me how. I would like to know whether I am reaching people and how I can further be of assistance. Thank you again.

Truly this letter captures accurately the emotions and the sense of family that permeates those fortunate few who have come to know one another on Twitter. I say “few” because Twitter is a huge megaplex with as many people, world views & politics as one can imagine. Within Twitter’s world community are those who’ve read the signs of the times and as the above letter states, have found solace, friendship and courage to confront the nihilists who would take the world down in flames. Every generation or two seems to be faced with it’s own crisis. This present one is our own. Like-kindred spirits find their way to one another and the very essence of what it is to be loved and to love in turn, unselfishly and at times at great price, becomes the mark of what it means to be family; to be friends and to be lovers of that Eternal Good, Who is after all, the Author of that love.

Don’t translate the letter. Let it be for the world to see it in it’s truest form. If the person it was written to see’s your website, they will know and it will mean more because they will be one of very few that can read and feel the emotions of the letter. Alot could be lost in the translation as it sometimes is even with our native language. Leave it be, let it live as is.

This project is so wonderful. Its inspired me to write letters on my own. Things that i want to say but never can. Thank you so much for beginning this project.
I also was wondering, would it be possible to get a copy of the letters one submits. I’ve submitted a few, but someday i might grow the courage to actually sned them to the people they’re meant for.
